User Need

We all need help navigating the increasingly costly and complicated world of healthcare. Especially employers with self-funded health plans, who assume full risk for their employees’ medical costs. And the people who work for them, who today shoulder more of the cost burden through high-deductible plans. What if these employers could engage with their employees and guide them toward cost-effective healthcare choices, thereby reducing healthcare’s bottom-line impact? What if employees could get help understanding their health plan, finding high-value  providers, decoding bills, and managing their medical record and HSA in real time?

Additional Project Goals

  • Bring a fully functional platform (iOS, Android, web portal) to market within 60 days.

  • Pinpoint the leading causes of waste, lost productivity and low employee morale through advanced statistical analysis of de-identified claims data.

  • Embed a news feed to engage user subgroups by health condition, interest, age, etc.

Results

  • Grew client base to eight companies representing 25,000 employees in just six months.

  • Early analysis showed companies averaged a 10% reduction in their medical spend.

  • On average, saved users 3.5 hours per query, contributing to a 95% satisfaction rating.
