User Need
Most patients with chronic health conditions hurriedly fill out their paper diaries right before they go in for a check-up. athenaWell syncs a person’s vitals from HealthKit and other connected smart devices directly to their EHR, thereby reducing provider and patient stress, increasing accuracy, and improving care quality and outcomes.
Additional Project Goals

Ensure ease of use by a broad swath of patients, including older, rural tech novices.

Demonstrate potential of greater patient-provider connectivity to reduce costs for large Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) through reduced hospitalization.

Leverage forthcoming HealthKit to continue fostering close relationship with Apple.

Achieved positive early results in abbreviated pilot with Hudson Headwaters Health Network of Upstate NY.

App functionality folded into main patient portal app and renamed athenaWell.
