User Need

Apps like Doctor on Demand and Amwell are pushing brick-and-mortar providers to rethink how they serve patients, lest they go elsewhere for their care. To stay competitive, these traditional providers need a way to offer virtual visits. Patients want to stay away from the clinic to save time and hassle, and in some cases, to reduce their risk of injury or infection.

Additional Project Goals

• Address the needs of both provider and patient via the same app.

• Enable practices to customize the app for their brand, also reducing development costs.

• Support many practice types and workflows, e.g. urgent care, psychiatry, family practice.

Results

• Tailored the app to meet the unique needs of Carolina Partners in Mental Health. Deep collaborative partnership resulted in onboarding 100 providers, who held scheduled and on-demand calls via the platform every day.

• Similarly partnered with FastMed Urgent Care, which operates 70 centers nationwide.

• Enabled hundreds more small and medium-sized practices to regularly hold appointments via secure video.
